World War 1 - Service Records


Albert Lewis Eve - Albert Eve was born in Putney, London on the 18th April 1896. He was the youngest son of Edward and Emma Eve. His birth was registered in Wandsworth during the June quarter of 1896. He joined the 35th Battalion of the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 20th July 1915. At the time he was working a a farm labourer. According attestation papers his next of kin was given as Florence Edith Eve (sister) who lived at 48 Sydney Road, Ealing, London. At the time of enlistment he was single.

He died on the 3rd June 1918 in France. At the time he was a Corporal serving with the 4th Canadian Light Trench Mortar Battery. He was buried in the Bellacourt Military Cemetery, Riviere, Pas de Calais.

Frank Arshure Eve - Frank Eve was born in Norwood, England on the 24th April 1886. He joined the 28th Battalion of the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 24th October 1914. At the time of joining he was working as an electrician and was single. The next of kin listed was Arthur George Eve. He was single in 1915.

He died on Wednesday, 27th September 1916. At the time of his death Frank a Eve was a Lieutenant in the 28th Battalion of the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment). He was buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, Pas de Calais.

Walter Richard Eve - Walter R Eve was born on the 15th December 1884 in Bedford, England. His birth was registered in Bedford in the March quarter of 1885. He was the son of Edward and Emma Eve who in 1881 were living at 41 Albert St, Bedford St Peter, Bedfordshire. See 1881 Great Britain Census listings. At the time of his enlistment he was living with his wife Maude Elizabeth Eve at 96 Hallam Street, Toronto. He was working as a plasterer. He joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 20th November 1916.

He died aged 33 on the July 31st 1918. At the time he was serving in the Canadian Army Medical Corps. He was buried in the Toronto (Prospect Cemetery.

Arthur Stewart Eve - Arthur S Eve was born on the 22nd November 1862 in Ampthill, England. He is linked to the Tree of Weston Eve - see link below. He enlisted on the 29th November 1915. At the time of enlistment he was living at 490 Mountain Avenue, Westmount with his wife Elizabeth Agnes Eve. He was the MacDonald Professor of Physics at McGill University. He was commissioned as a Captain to the 148th Battalion.

Clifford Eve - He was born on the 26th April 1899 in Douglas, Ontario. At the time of his enlistment he was single and living in Renfrew. He was working as a teamster. He joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 22nd June 1917.

Frederick John Eve - He was born on the 7th August 1884 in Southend on Sea, England. His birth was registered in Rochford in the September quarter of 1884. In 1915 he was living with his wife in Fort William, Ontario. He was working as a clerk. He joined the 22nd Battalion of the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 2nd June 1915.

James Eve - He was born 20th December 1869 in London. In 1915 he was single working as a teamster. He joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 27th March 1915. His next of kin was given as Elizabeth Eve who lived in London.

John Edward Eve - He was born in St Catherines, Ontario on the 3rd October 1979. In 1915 he was living with his wife Martha Elizabeth Eve in St Catherines. At the time he was working as a blacksmith. He joined the 49nd Battalion of the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 8th October 1915.

Lionel Robert Eve - He was born on the 20th January 1893. His birthplace was given as Bournemouth but his birth was registered in Hackney in the March quarter of 1893. In 1915 he was single working as a Salesman. He joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 23rd August 1915. His next of kin was given as Mr G W Eve, Wallingford Road, North Kensington, London (father).

Neville Joseph Eve - He was born on the 19th November 1882 in Chelmsford, Essex. In 1915 he was living with his wife Elsie Annie Eve. He was working as a janitor. He joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 15th September 1915.

Valmar Eve - He was born in December 1899 in Quebec. In 1918 he was working as a labourer. He joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 1st October 1915. His mother, Elizabeth, is given as next of kin.
