The earliest EVE recorded in this state is Oswell Eve

Oswell Eve is first recorded in Pennsylvania in the 1740's. There are a number of references to him being a British navy captain. As yet no definitive link with the EVE's of Great Britain has been found. If you have one please e-mail.

After the American Uprising or War of Independence (depending on which side of the pond you are from), he and his family moved to Georgia. Links are also present with the Caribbean.

After settling in Georgia, the descendants of Oswell established branches in South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. If you can fill in any of the gaps please e-mail.

Mary A. Eve is listed as living in Fairhill Street, 33 Ward Philadelphia, Philadelphia County. She is living with her her son in law (John Wild) and her daughter Emma Wild (nee Eve). She was born in June 1816 in England. In 1900 she was a widow. Her daughter Emma was also born in England in 1864. She came to the US in 1870. The census states Mary Eve came to the US in 1868. Her daughter married John Wild in 1890. By 1900 they had had six children four of whom were living in 1900.

Mary Eve - Listed as living in Pottsdown, Montgomery County. Mary is listed as being 60 years old ( born in about 1820 in Pennsylvania). She is described as a widow and working as a servant. She was living at the home of Susan Binder.
