1880 Census

Charles W Eve - Listed as living in Washington DC. He was living at the home of Virginia Chamberlain. Charles Eve is listed as 40 years old, single born in Virginia. He was working as a painter (could be a miss print - probably printer).

 Charles W Eve is listed in two directories in 1890 & 1891 as being a printer in Washington.

  • Charles W Eve - printer 514 D Northeast, District of Columbia DC 1890.
  • Charles W Eve - printer - 120 Mass Avenue, Northeast, District of Columbia DC 1891.

The Charles Eve listed above was probably the son of George W Eve who was born in Virginia - see Virginia pages..

Charles W Eve was born in Fredricksberg VA in 1840, the son of George W Eve. There are newspaper articles (details awaited) which relate to his life.

  • Eve Charles W. - former resident now in D. C. 27 Feb1891.

Clare Kurtz Eve

Clare Kurtz Eve was born on the 15th Dec 1911. She married Christopher F Eve who was also born in 1911. Clara died in Washington, DC on the15th Jan 1998.

Christopher F Eve is the brother of Edward Armstrong Eve (see Connecticut pages). He is a descendant of Joseph Eve 1760 - 1835. See Tree of Oswell Eve.

Oswell Roebuck Eve - Listed as living on 18th Street, Washington. He was born in October 1870 in Georgia (age 29 in 1900). His father was also born in Georgia. His mother was born in Virginia. He was working as a government clerk. He is a descendant of Oswell Eve (see link below for further details). He was living at the home of his aunt Elizabeth Getty with his wife and daughter. His wife is listed as Mary L Eve born in Georgia in February 1870. They were married in 1896. Details of his daughter are set out below;

Anna C Eve - Listed as living in Washington DC. She was 23 years old born in South Carolina. She was single working as a stenographer. She was a lodger at the home of Cora Sutton. Anna Calhoun Eve was born on the 31st Aug 1906. She married Walter Scott in 1935. She died in Washington DC in 1971. She was the daughter of Edward Armstrong Eve. See link below;

 Tree of Oswell Eve

Fred Eve - Listed as living in Washington DC. Listed as 35 years old born in Ohio. His occupation is given as a clerk. He was living in rented accommodation and had been married for less than a year. Also listed;
  • Mary Eve - wife, age 33. She was born in Kentucky as were her parents.
