Fourth Generation

8 William Eve

William Eve was born in 1808 at Terling. He died in 1883 in Hatfield Peveral.

He married Lydia Chapman in 1836. She died aged 71 in Hatfield Peveral in 1882. They had the following children all born Hatfield Peveral.

• Julianna Eve - born 1837
• Ellin Eve - born 1838
• Ester Eve - born 1840
• Lydia Eve - born 1841
• William Edward Eve - born 1842. He died in Kensington, London in 1874.
• John Eve - born 1844. He was a bachelor and later lived in Surrey.
• Walter Ben Eve (13) - born 1848
• Robert Berridge Eve - born 1851

In 1841 William was living at 'The Green" and was a butcher. In 1851 he had moved to "The Street" and was a post office messenger. By 1881 he had moved to Terling and was retired.

9 William Eve

William Eve was born in 1825 at High Easter. He died after 1881.

In 1871 he was living in Church Road, Runwell with his nephew Stephen (7). He was a bachelor and lived in Stanford-le-Hope in 1881 as a servant in charge of the horses.

10 John Eve

John Eve was born in 1830 in High Easter but was baptisted at Terling Independent Church.

He married Hephzeba after 1871 and had no children.

In 1851 & 1861 he was living with his father Thomas. In 1871 he was still a bachelor lodging at "Monks" in Terling as an ag labourer. By 1881 he had married Hephzeba who was 44 and a dressmaker. He had become a stockman.

11 Ben Eve

Ben Eve was born in 1831 in High Easter. He died in 1892 in Terling.

He married Martha in 1854 at Terling. They had the following children all at Terling;

• Thomas Eve - born 1857.
• William Eve (15) - born 1861
• John Eve - born 1851 (Williams twin)
• Stephen Eve - born 1863.

In 1861 Ben and Martha were living in Terling with Thomas and the twins. He was a sawyer. By 1871 Martha had died and the family had a young housekeeper living in. They lived at "Kenseals Cottage".

12 Walter Ben Eve

Walter Ben Eve was born in 1847 in Hatfield Peveral. He died in 1906 in Woodbridge, Suffolk.

He married Susan Smith in 1869 in Maldon, and when she died he married Bess in 1885. They had the following children;

• Muriel Alice Eve - born 1885 in Mile End.
• Elsie Eve - born 1886
• John Leslie Eve - born 1887 in Mile End
• Edward Eve - born 1889. He married Mary Ann Innes born 1891 St Pancras London.

In 1881 Walter Ben and was a widower and a carpenter. He was visiting Romford on census night.

Fifth Generation

13 Thomas Eve

Thomas Eve was born in 1848 in Hatfield Peveral.

He married Hannah and had the following children in Wandsworth.

• Frank Eve - born 1878
• Amy Eve - born 1879. She died young.
• Fred Eve - born 1879. He died young.
• Lydia Eve - born 1883
• Hettie Jane Eve - born 1898

In 1881 Thomas was a bricklayer living in Streatham, Surrey.

14 Robert Berridge Eve

Robert Eve was born in 1851 in Hatfield Peveral.

He married Laura Lavinia Cornwall in 1878 in Chelmsford and had the following children:

• Ethel Laura Eve - born 1880
• Lydia Eve - born 1883
• Alice Margaret Mary Eve - born 1885 in Colchester.
• Beatrix Mary Eve - born 1889 in Colchester.
• Robert Eve - born 1888
• William Ashford Eve - born 1887
• Alfred James Eve - born 1891 in Colchester.

15 William Eve

William Eve was born in 1861 in Terling. He died in 1915 in Terling.

He married Elva Kate in 1896. They had the following children;

• Thomas William Eve - born 1897. He died during the First World War at the battle of the Somme. He was a lance corporal in the 1st Btn. Essex Regiment. He was 19 when he died. See WW1 pages.
• Elva Annie Eve - born 1898

When he died in 1915 he left Elva Kate £621 in his will.

Sixth Generation

16 William Ashford Eve

William was born in 1887 in Colchester. He died probably in Felixstow after 1942.

He married Annie Laura. They had the following children; .

• Ashford Berridge Eve - born 1918. He died in Singapore in 1942 aged 24 serving as a corporal in the RAF. He was 24 years old.
