Third Generation

5 James Eve

James Eve was born in 1775 in Woodham Mortimer. He died in 1850 at Maldon.

He married Susan Larkin in 1805 in Maldon. She died in 1846 aged 70. They had the following children in Maldon:

• James Eve (8) - born 1806
• William Eve - born 1809. He died in 1850 in Maldon. He was a bachelor and lived with his parents as a Shoemaker, until he died.
• John Eve - born 1810 in Maldon. He died in 1848 also in Maldon. He was a bachelor and lived with his parents as an agricultural labourer until he died.
• Adam Eve - born 1813. He died in 1814
• Elizabeth Eve - born 1815
• Ebenezer Eve - born 1820. He died in 1890 in Maldon. He was a bachelor and in 1881 was working as a porter in the Maldon Workhouse.
• Lydia Eve - born 1827

In 1841 James was living in St. Peters, Maldon. He was an agricultural labourer.

6 George Eve

George Eve was born in 1777 in Woodham Mortimer. He died there in 1835.

He married Lucy Burrels in 1802 in Woodham Walter. She died in 1822 at Hazeleigh aged 44. They had the following children at Hazeleigh:

• William Eve - born 1805. Nothing else known.
• Charlotte Eve - born 1806. She died in 1881 at Danbury
• James Eve (9) - born 1808
• Elizabeth Eve - born 1811
• George Eve - (10) - born 1814
• Lucy Eve - born 1816
• Charles Eve - born 1818. He was a bachelor and in 1841 was at Stanford le Hope.

7 William Eve

William Eve was born in 1788 at Woodham Mortimer. He died there in 1867.

He married Sara Wakelin in 1815 at Woodham Mortimer. She died in 1862. They had the following children baptised at the Non Conformist Congregational Church at Maldon. The children were born in Woodham Mortimer.

• Samuel Eve - born 24th Mar 1817 - According to family folklore, he married the maid and was packed off to Australia. He certainly arrived with enough money to acquire farmland and to build a substantial house. See link the New South Wales pages below;

• David Eve (11) - born 1819
• Joseph Eve (12)- born 1822
• Hannah Eve - born 22nd Dec 1825. She died on the 22 January 1826
• Isaac Eve (13) - born 10th Sept 1827.
• Lydia Eve - born 5th May 1832 - Lydia later joined her Brother in Australia. She arrived on the "Admiral Lyons" on the 15th Sept, 1857.

William was an agricultural labourer. He lived in Woodham Mortimer all his life.

FOURTH GENERATION

8 James Eve

James Eve was born in 1806 in Maldon. He died in 1883 also in Maldon

He married Lydia Dowsett in 1835 at Maldon, she died 1884 aged 71. They had the following children all born in Maldon:

• James Eve - born 1838. James Eve also emmigrated to Australia. See link below;

• George Eve - born 1842. He died the same year.
• John Eve - born 1843. He was a bachelor and living with his parents. After they died he moved to the 'Carpenters Arms' Maldon. He worked as a porter at Maldon Docks.
• Elizabeth Eve - born 1846. She died in 1847
• Edward Eve - born 1848
• Ellen Eve - born 1850
• Laura Eve - born 1851
• Emma Eve - born 1854

They lived in St.Peters. He was an agricultural labourer.

9 James Eve

James Eve was born in 1808 in Hazeleigh. He died in 1871 in Woodham Mortimer

He married Jane E. Hayward from Oxford in 1834 at Langdon Hills. They had the following children at Woodham Mortimer:

• Lavinia Eve - born 1836
• Ellen Eve - born 1838
• Elizabeth Eve - born 1840

James was a carpenter living at Langdon Hills in 1841. By 1861 he had moved to the 'Blue Anchor' in West Tilbury.

10 George Eve

George Eve was born in 1814 in Hazeleigh. He died in 1865 in Corringham

He married Sara Harvey in 1843 at Corringham. They had the following children all born at Corringham:

• Ann Eve - born 1843
• Charles Eve - born 1844
• George Eve - born 1847. He died in 1854.
• Elizabeth Eve - born 1851
• Julie Eve - born 1854
• Margaret Eve - born 1856. She died in 1859
• William Eve - born 1861
• John Eve - born 1861
• Ellen Eve - born 1863

In 1871 Sara was a widow and working as a Washerwoman at 'Giffords Cottage' in Corringham with John aged 10 who worked as an agriculural labourer and Ellen Emily.

Son Charles was a bachelor and an agriculutural labourer working at "Northlands".Daughter Julie was a servant at "Corringham Hall".

11 David Eve

David Eve was born in 1819 in Woodham Mortimer. He died in 1898 in Leyton

He married Sara in 1851 Leyton. They had the following children.

• William Eve - born 1875 in Leyton

12 Joseph Eve

Joseph Eve was born in 1822 in Woodham Mortimer. He died in 1904 in North Ockendon

He married Elizabeth in 1859 and had the following children born in North Ockendon:

• William Eve - born 1860. He married Lucy Tucker. They emigrated to the USA in about 1896 and settled in Salt Lake City, Utah. He died in September 1937. See link below.

13 Isaac Eve

Isaac Eve was born in 1829 in Woodham Mortimer. He died there in 1884.

He married Mahalia in 1862. She died in 1905 aged 74. They had the following children.

• Alice Mary Eve - born 1869
• Agnes Jane Eve - born 1871.

Isaac worked as an agricultural labourer all his life.
