30. Josiah Harford Eve

He was born in 1824 in Bocking. He died in Chelmsford in 1881. He married Myra in 1846 in Chelmsford, She died aged 80 in 1899 at Chelmsford. They had the following children:

  • Josiah Harford Eve (42) - born 1848
  • George Porter Eve (43) - born 1851
  • Dorothy Mary Eve - born about 1852. She died a spinster in the London Hospital and left £240 to George Porter Eve, her brother, in 1908.
  • Elizabeth Eve - born about 1853
  • Thomas Porter Eve - born 1855, He died in 1890 in Paddington. London. He married Theresa in 1879 St. Pancras.
  • Emma Eve born 1856 in lpswich. In 1878 she had a base born girl called Emma Alice. She died in 1906 in Chelmsford and left £838 to her brother George Porter Eve.
In 1856 Josiah lived at Halsted, by 1866 he was in Chelmsford and lived there, in the High Street until he died ,working as a bootmaker. When he died Myra moved to Glebe Cottage with her daughter Emma and grand daughter Flora Beatrice. In his Will he left £611 to Josiah & George and Myra

31. Alfred Eve

Born 1826 in Braintree. He died in 1888 in West Ham. He married Elizabeth. She was born 1816. They had the following children;

  • Alfred Eve - born 1853 in Sydenham . in 1881 he was living in West Ham
In 1881 Alfred was a baker in West Ham.

32 Ezra Ben Eve

Born 1836 in Braintree He died there in 1874. He married Elizabeth in 1854 Braintree. They had no children.

In 1851 he lived in Bank Street Braintree and in 1871 he was an Enumerator for the Census and lived at no 32 Bank St. and as a Bootmaker employed 5 men. In his Will he left £1500 to his brother Josiah Harford Eve , also a bootmaker who lived in Chelmsford.

33. William Eve

Born 1823 in Great Dunmow. He married Jessie A. and moved to Camberwell Green, London and had the following children.

  • William Eve - born in 1856 in Camberwell. Nothing known after 1881.
  • Douglas Eve - born 1860 in Camberwell. Nothing known after 1881.
34. John Fred Eve

Born in 1834 in Hatfield Peverel He married Pheobe Ann and had the following children,:

  • Phoebe Felicia Eve - born 1858 who had a base born son Fred William Jones in 1880. They moved to Latchingdon in 1881
35. Charles James Eve

He was born in 1846 in Boreham. He married Mary from Wethersfield in 1875 and had the following children:

  • Walter Eve - born 1868 in Wethersfield. Nothing known after 1881.
  • Albert Eve - born 1876 in Boreham. He was at Maldon with his family in 1891.
  • Frank Eve - born 1878. He died in 1881 in Chelmsford.
  • Charles James Eve - born 1881. He married in l907 in Colchester
  • Emily Eve - born 1884 in Chelmsford
  • Alice Eve - born 1888 in Chelmsford
Charles James was a Blacksmith and lived at 19, Townfield St. Chelmsford in the 1881 census . By 1891 the family had moved to Wants Rd. Maldon, Charles still a Blacksmith and Albert at 14 a butcher.

36. George Eve

He was born in 1827 in Bocking. He died in 1895 in Bocking. He married Hannah Alden in 1848 Braintree. She died in 1905 aged 77 in Bocking, They had the following children:

  • George Eve - born in 1850. He married Penelope in 1870. She died aged 31 in Poplar, East London in 1878. They had no children and George went to Romford where he worked as a Blacksmith like his father
  • Emily Eve - born 1850 in Bocking
  • Sophie Eve - born 1852 in Bocking
  • Ben Eve - born 1854. Nothing known after 1871
  • Arthur Eve - born 1855. He married Amelia in 1879 in West Ham and was a Bootmaker there in 1881
  • Ester Eve - born 1862 in Felsted, She married in 1895
  • Emma Eve - born 1865 in Felsted
  • John Eve - born 1869. Nothing known after 1891.
In 1861 George and family were living in Eggmore Lane Felsted, where he was a Journeyman Blacksmith. By 1871 be was back in Bocking in the Rayne Road where he stayed.

37. Ben Eve

He was born in 1834 in Bocking. He died there in 1926. He married Rebecca in 1856 and she died 1872. They had the following children.

  • Rebecca Eve - born 1857. She died in 1858 in Bocking.
  • Ben Alfred Eve (44) - born 1860
  • John Fred Eve - born 1870. Nothing known after 1881 He the married Mary Ann Hulme in 1872 and had the following children:
  • Margaret Eve - born 1874
  • Ada Hulme Eve- born 1876
  • Sydney Horace Hulme Eve - born about 1878.
  • Kate Eve - born 1882
  • Lily Eve - born 1883
In 1861 Ben and Rebecca were living in Roachpond Field, Braintree, he as a Glazier and she as a Silk Weaver. In 1881 they lived at Six Bells Yard in Bradford St. Bocking he is now a House Painter and married to Mary Ann who had children previously. By 1891 Ben is still a painter but also the local Registrar for births and deaths, Mary Ann runs a Grocery Shop and her daughter Alice is their Housekeeper and Margaret is a Dressmaker. Ben left a Will in 1926 leaving £345 between Ben Alfred and Sydney Horace.

38. James Eve

He was born in 1840 in Bocking. He died in 1905. He married Annie from Ireland and went to live in Manchester where he had the following children:

  • Elizabeth Eve - born 1871 in Burnley
  • Annie J.Eve - born 1 873 in Burnley
  • William James Eve - born 1875 Choriton
  • Harriet Eve - born 1877.
39. Charles Eve

He was born in 1837 in Coggeshall. He married Hannah in 1865 and had the following children,

  • George W Eve - born 1867
  • John Charles Eve - born 1870
In 1871 Charles was a Farm Worker and Hannah a Tambour Worker living in Back Avenue . In 1881 when Hannah had died he became unemployed and lived as a lodger.

40. William Eve

He was born in 1839 in Coggeshall. He died there in 1897. He married Jemima in 1865 and had the following children born in Coggeshall.

  • Gertrude J Eve - born 1866. She died in 1 867
  • Edward Eve - born 1869
  • Gertrude Eve - born 1871
  • Albert Arthur Eve - born 1872. He died in the same year.
  • Catherine E. Eve - born 1874
  • Alfred Arthur Eve - born 1876
  • Rosy Georgianna Eve - born 1881
When William was 14 he was working in the Silk Factory and at 22 he was a Silk Velvet Worker. In 1871 he lived in East St. he a Silk Worker and Jemima a Tambour Worker.

41 Arthur Eve

He was born in 1845 in Coggeshall. He married Emily in 1865 and had the following children.

  • Emily Eve - born 1868
  • Elizabeth Eve - born 1 871 in Whitechapel
  • Eliza Eve - born in 1873 in Whitechapel
  • Ester Eve - born 1877 in Whitechapel
  • Henry Eve - born about 1878.
In 1871 Arthur and family had moved to Whitechapel where he was a Dock Labourer.
