BARBADOS

The earliest records of EVE's in Barbados date from the 1840's.

There are two strands of records.

2 - Those from the Parish register & transcripts of baptisms, marriages, burials, and indexes from St. Michael's Parish Barbados

STRAND 1 - From Bermuda

Thomas Stowe Eve(c13)

Thomas Stowe Eve was born in 1865. He is the son of Thomas Stowe Eve (c12).

He married Florence Gertrude Mustor on the 17th August 1884 at Saint Michael, Barbados, Caribbean. Florence was born in about 1868. By 1900 the family had moved to the US.
  • Walter Eve - born 17th March 1894. He died in June 1974 in Baldwin, Nassau, NY.
  • Arthur Eve - born 1887.
  • Eldra Eve - born 1889. She married James Matthews. They had one child Doris Mathews. She later married Charles Corbin.
  • Stella Gertude Eve- born 19th March 1892. She died on the 16th May 1980. She married Hubert Felix Gainford who was born 5th Feb 1885 and died 8 November 1958. Jean Enid Gainforth thier daughter married Harry E Deppart. They had the following children, Harry E Deppart and Susan Jean Deppert.
  • Theodore Eve - born 1903 in the US.
There are records at the Ellis Island Web Site which show the family moving to the US in June 1900 which states that they intended to travel to Boston.

In the 1920 New York census records exist for Walter and Florence Eve. See link below.

1 - Ann EVE married Samuel RICHARD on the 4 Aug 1838 at Christ Church, Barbados, Caribbean.

2 -Mary EVE married Tobias KNIGHTS on the 2 Jan 1840 at Saint Thomas, Barbados, Caribbean

3 John Warren EVE christening on the 19 Jun 1841 at Saint Michael, Barbados, Caribbean Parents: father:Robert EVE mother ?

4 Mary EVE married Robert CALLENDER on the 2 Nov 1844 at Saint Michael, Barbados, Caribbean

5 Adelaide Louisa EVE christening: on the13 May 1843 at Saint George, Barbados, Caribbean Parents: - father: ? mother: Nanny EVE.

6 Susannah EVE christening: on the 20 Sep 1845 at Saint Michael, Barbados, Caribbean Parents: - father: ? mother:- Ann EVE

7 John EVE christening: on the 31 Aug 1851 at Saint Lucy, Barbados, Caribbean Parents:- father ? mother: Nancy EVE

13 - Marion Augusta EVE christening: on the 30 Sep 1858 at Christ Church, Barbados, Caribbean. Parents: - father: ? mother:-Margaret Jones EVE
